You will receive your membership certificate as well as custom t-shirt and pin for Full members - Associates receive membership certificate and pin- Allies receive Certificate of Recognition and pin- please note additional SWAG including full leather patch will be available for optional purchase with each Membership class - details to be announced.

  • Where do membership costs go? Membership dues go toward our organizational costs including Zoom hosting, Website maintenance, Office supplies, support and sponsorship of other Leather Organizations, and costs associated with any service projects

  • How long is the process? Membership takes approximately 3 months to complete - while this may seem like a long time, we strive to ensure we are asking reasonable amounts of time stretched out over this period totaling approximately 12 hours of meetings time (lectures, discussions, readings), once classes are complete you also have a service project which is required.

  • What will I be required to do? Depending on your membership level you will be required to attend a specific number of meetings, as well as required readings, and for full members develop a service project to be implemented. Meetings will include time for bonding, education and personal development in a shared safe space.

  • Do I need to join in person? At this time no in person meetings are required - the Closing Membership Retreat may be in person - but that is TBD at this time dependent on the membership class decision.

  • What is the time commitment required? 2 hour biweekly meetings and outside time to read, study and develop service projects.

  • Why is the application so long? We think with anything you must be intentional - if you are willing to commit thought and time at the beginning of a process, we hope you will be able to give that same thought and time to the organization as well. The questions on the application are meant to make you consider your journey and if LgOC will be a good fit for you.

  • What if I decide I don’t want to do this after I apply? Application fees are nonrefundable but can be transferred if you choose to hold off on joining until a later class. We will wish you well and keep your application open for 2 years.
